What data does the Literary London Society hold?

Your full name and email address only.

 

When do we collect this data?

When you become a member of the society, or when you attend one of our events, such as the reading group, and provide us with your contact details.

If your membership has lapsed, we will email you directly and ask if you are happy for us to continue holding your data. We will only continue to hold your data if you give us your consent to do so.

 

What is this data used for?

To distribute the Society’s newsletter, and to disseminate information about the activities of the Society including: the annual conference; the reading group.

Your personal information is used only for these purposes; we will never share it with third parties.

 

Where is my data held?

The Treasurer, who has responsibility for membership, is our Designated Data Controller, and will hold your details on an encrypted memory stick. The Treasurer will share email lists with officers who have responsibilities for publicising the regular activities listed in the section above.

 

Your rights

You have the right for to have your information deleted from our database at any time and without explanation. If you would like us to do this, please contact the Treasurer (treasurer at literarylondon.org).

You have the right to request details of all data we hold about you without cost or explanation.
